Today Is The Day
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV)
2 For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”[a] Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
The word procrastinate comes from a latin compound word, Pro, which means forward, and crastinus, which means of tomorrow. So procrastination is moving or pushing something from today to tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow.
Today Is The Day
Most things in life that need to be done, paying the bills, painting the house, changing the oil in the car, allow for a few tomorrows before they absolutely have to be done. Why? Because if you die before you get the house painted, it might be an inconvenience for someone else, but not the end of the world. There are, however, other things in life that don’t allow for such putting off until later because they have eternal ramifications. the most important is someones decision regarding Christ. Hebrews 9:7 says we die and then comes the judgement, there are no tomorrows or do overs when it comes to salvation.
Today Is The Day
You can survive if you procrastinate about somethings. But a decision about surrendering your life to Christ is not one of them.
I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
