Hey everyone and welcome to Refinery Life Church.
Today we are continuing our series titled “The Main Emphasis of the Inspired Writers of the Gospels.”
The books of the New Testament contain the written testimony of inspired writers who knew who Jesus was and what He was trying to accomplish in the hearts and lives of people.
This teaching series is based on the first five books of the New Testament.
Today we are talking about The Simply Divine!
More than ninety percent of the Gospel of John is not found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, or Luke.
Out of his vast storehouse, John chose to record incidents, “signs,” and conversations that would convince the world that Jesus is “simply divine.”
Consequently, John’s gospel has no account of the birth of Christ, His baptism, nor His temptations.
It tells nothing of the Last Supper, nothing of Gethsemane, and nothing of Christ’s ascension.
It records not one experience of Christ’s healing of people possessed by demons.
Perhaps most surprising of all, it contains none of the parables or our Lord.
Although John’s gospel says nothing about any of these events that hold so prominent a place in the other three gospels, it has everything to say about Christ’s deity!
