Its better to give
Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. Philippians 4:15 (NKJV)
Its better to give
There was a preacher from england who pioneered missions in China named Hudson Taylor, he never asked for money to fund his work. Instead he deeply believed that God would supply all his needs, and he prayed everyday for His provision. God answered his prayers, and people gave timely gifts, which enabled his ministry to continue. Their support of a co labourer with Christ helped bring God’s word to China.
Its better to give
God honoured the generosity of these believers, as he does our giving. God appreciates an open heart that responds to ministry and enables others do His work. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV) As the Apostle Paul writes in Philippians, such gifts are a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. Philippians 4:18 (NKJV)
Ask God for opportunities to invest in His Kingdom work. This may mean doing more for your local church or for missions in other parts of the world. you may be the person who helps the next great missionary, and discovers the valuable truth, that its better to give than to receive.
