God Enables You
Luke 1:38 (NKJV)
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Have you ever heard the saying “This is bigger than both of us”? In the case of Mary and Joseph, this sentiment rings true. What started as a simple commitment to God and each other ended in enormous, earthshaking events.
Told by the angel Gabriel that that she would have a child by the Holy Spirit. Mary submitted to God’s plan with an obedience that was radiant in it’s simplicity, “Let it be to me according to your word”
Then, when angel in a dream instructed Joseph, he committed himself fully to God’s plan. He took Mary to be his wife. He named the baby Jesus. he complied with every detail.
When God targets you for a task that a seems too big to handle, follow Mary and Joseph’s example. Make a simple commitment to be faithful and willing. You aren’t alone. God will enable you to accomplish whatever He has planned.
I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
