3‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
As the new year approaches, we may be tempted to speculate what the future holds. Will there be challenges and trial? Unexpected blessings and windfalls? Thinking about the future can seem like unravelling an intricate mystery, but the prophet Jeremiah assures us that God reveals exactly what we need to know!
Facing The Future
As we look to the new year, we may try and gain a sense of control over the unknown by planning, setting goals, or making resolutions. But most of us realise that the future really lies outside our control.
We can, however trust God for what lies ahead. God sees everything that will happen, and He sees us swell. God, through Jeremiah, doesn’t encourage us to try and set our course. God encourages us to call on Him as we face the future and to anticipate an answer.
As you are Facing The Future, God has promised that He will be faithful. Be encouraged that He goes before you and follows close behind. His hand is lovingly directing your course.
I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. There’s nothing that’s too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body!
